So, where do you even start with something like this? I guess I’ll start with the basics. I’m Nicki Clem—though you can call me Nicole if that’s easier. I’ll answer to either.
Currently living in Iowa but originally from Dayton, Ohio, and I’ve had my fair share of moves—thanks to bandmates, boyfriends, a whole lot of life happening, and getting married. Along the way, I’ve faced plenty of challenges: multiple pregnancies that didn’t go as planned, nearly losing myself and a family member to addiction, and finding my path with God in the process. Therapy didn’t come until I was 35, but better late than never, right? I ended up meeting my soulmate in 2015 (he was my next door neighbor), and then we tied the knot in 2020. Nothing brings people together more than a Covid wedding, right?!
When I was growing up and discovered Google, I developed a slightly obsessive habit of researching random things that pop into my head. Seriously, Google is like a second brain to me at this point. I think they owe me a sponsorship for how often I’m typing “what is…” into the search bar. I honestly think I annoy mostly everyone I know with this habit, but I get it. I’d be annoyed with someone always having to make sure what people say is right, too, only if I wasn’t that person.
As for hobbies, my undiagnosed ADHD has led me to dabble in almost everything—from different culinary methods and art mediums to carpentry and even being a musician and being able to travel across the US playing shows. It’s safe to say I’m a “Jill” of all trades, master of none—but I’m okay with that.
Did you know that that saying, “Jack of all trades, master of none” has a third part to it?
“Jack of all trades, master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one.”
One less thing you’ll need to Google. You’re welcome.
